In a strategic move that underscores the resilience and long-term vision of Southeast Asia’s fashion retail sector, FJ Benjamin has signed a three-year exclusive franchise agreement with The Pond Group, the new South Korean owner of Superdry. Effective July 1, the same day The Pond Group officially takes ownership of Superdry’s trademarks, the deal empowers FJ Benjamin to continue operating the brand’s stores across Singapore and Malaysia, with renewal options already built in.
This agreement ensures franchise continuity for Superdry in two of Asia’s most influential retail markets and marks a new phase of collaboration under Superdry’s evolving global leadership. FJ Benjamin has confirmed that the partnership will not materially impact its financial performance for the current fiscal year, reflecting a seamless transition for the brand’s operations and customers alike.
Meanwhile, the company announced the resignation of CFO and Company Secretary Foo Say Tain, effective May 31, during his probationary period. To ensure stability, former CFO Ms. Karen Chong Mee Keng has resumed the position on an interim basis as the company seeks a permanent successor.

Founded in 1959, FJ Benjamin remains a cornerstone of fashion retail in Asia, distributing iconic international brands such as Guess, Banana Republic, La Senza, and Gap. With headquarters in Singapore and offices spanning Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, the group is well-positioned to maximize the value of its franchise partnerships in the region.
