Spanish fashion multinational Mango is ramping up its U.S. expansion with a commitment to opening approximately 20 new stores in 2025. This initiative aims to solidify Mango’s presence in the American market, bringing its total store count in the country to around 65 by the end of the year. A major highlight of this expansion is the upcoming launch of a flagship store in Manhattan, underscoring the brand’s strategic push in the region.

A Decisive U.S. Growth Strategy

While Mango has had a presence in the U.S. since 2006, it was only in May 2022 that the company aggressively pursued its expansion strategy. The launch of a 23,000-square-foot flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City marked a turning point, leading to the development of a comprehensive growth roadmap. This strategy propelled Mango to surpass its 2022 goal of operating 40 company-owned stores in the U.S. by the end of 2024, generating record-breaking revenue in the process.

Following this success, Mango introduced a revised U.S. roadmap under its broader ‘Plan 4E’ (2024-2026), which seeks to further solidify the U.S. as one of its top three revenue-generating markets by 2026. Currently, the U.S. ranks among Mango’s top five markets and stands as its leading online market.

Strategic Expansion Across Key Regions

Mango’s 2025 expansion strategy focuses on the Sun Belt region and the Northeast, with planned store openings in Washington, Illinois, and Nevada. New locations will include Bellevue Square in Bellevue (Washington), Michigan Avenue in Chicago (Illinois), and the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas (Nevada).

Additionally, Mango is entering several new states, including Connecticut, Arizona, Ohio, Oregon, and Louisiana, while strengthening its presence in key states such as California (expanding in the San Francisco area) and Texas (adding a store in the Houston Galleria).

New Flagship Store in Manhattan

A significant milestone in Mango’s expansion will be the opening of a new flagship store in Manhattan, located at 1976 Broadway on the Upper West Side. Spanning 140,000 square feet, this location will be the largest Mango store in New York City, offering the brand’s Woman, Man, and Kids collections in a retail environment inspired by its Mediterranean-themed “New Med” concept.

“We are thrilled to continue executing our expansion plans by increasing our presence in New York, one of the most important fashion destinations in the world,” said Daniel López, Director of Expansion and Franchises at Mango. “This opening reaffirms our deep commitment to the U.S. market, a fundamental pillar in our global strategy.”

With Mango experiencing double-digit growth in the U.S., this aggressive expansion underscores the brand’s confidence in the market and its commitment to further establishing itself as a major player in the American fashion industry.
