Sephora, the global beauty and personal care retailer, is set to enhance its presence with exciting new openings this fall. The iconic brand is opening a new 5,000-square-foot store at Tanger Deer Park, located near Offline by Aerie and Athleta in the 739,000-square-foot retail center. This new addition aligns with Tanger’s strategy to diversify its offerings beyond apparel and footwear, aiming to elevate the shopping experience with a broader range of products and brands.
Amaka Muir, Tanger Deer Park’s marketing director, expressed enthusiasm about Sephora’s arrival, stating, “Sephora’s presence reinforces our commitment to elevating and diversifying the selection of brands at Tanger Deer Park. This new store at Tanger Deer Park is part of Sephora’s broader expansion strategy, which includes opening five new locations across Tanger properties nationally. Other new Sephora stores will be opening in Charleston, S.C., National Harbor, Md., Palm Beach, Fla., and Glendale, Ariz. This expansion reflects Tanger’s broader initiative to attract younger, more affluent shoppers by enhancing its centers with a diverse mix of brands and categories, including home furnishings, food and beverage, and entertainment. Since January 2023, Tanger has leased nearly 200,000 square feet to new brands, aiming to create more engaging and varied shopping environments.
Stephen Yalof, Tanger’s president and CEO, emphasized the strategic value of these new additions: “We continue to evolve our centers into true destinations by elevating and diversifying the overall brand and category mix across our portfolio. The expanded partnership with Sephora is an exciting step in Tanger’s growth.”
In addition to the Tanger Deer Park opening, Sephora is also making headlines with a new store at Stony Point Village in Bon Air. This new location marks Sephora’s first standalone store south of the river. Occupying a 5,800-square-foot space, the store will be situated between Dog Krazy and Gelati Celesti ice cream shop. This space, which had been vacant for seven or eight years, is being revitalized as part of a larger redevelopment of the center.
Thalhimer broker Jim Ashby confirmed the lease, noting that Sephora’s new store at Stony Point Village will account for half of the larger storefront previously vacant. This new store complements Sephora’s existing presence in the region, including a location at Short Pump Town Center and store-within-a-store concepts in five Kohl’s department stores.
With over 2,600 stores across 34 countries, Sephora continues to solidify its position as a leading beauty retailer. The company’s global reach is further supported by its parent company, LVMH, which includes luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hennessy, Tiffany, Bulgari, and Dior.
