French retail giant Groupe Casino is setting its sights on Morocco, announcing a major expansion plan to open 210 convenience stores under the Franprix and Monoprix banners over the next ten years. This move, in partnership with a local investor, signals Casino’s strong confidence in the country’s rapidly evolving retail market and growing urban consumer base.

First Stores to Open in 2025

The first wave of store openings is expected in 2025, with the full rollout aimed for completion by 2035. This expansion is projected to create at least 1,000 jobs by 2030, providing a significant boost to the local economy while introducing Morocco to two of France’s most recognized urban retail concepts.

“We see strong potential in Morocco’s fast-changing market,” said CEO Philippe Palazzi, noting that the partnership is designed to help Casino capitalize on the rising demand for convenience and digitally enhanced shopping experiences in the region.
