Sephora is set to open its sixth distribution center in the United States, with the new 746,672 square-foot site located at the Avon Landings Commerce Park in Indiana. Scheduled to open in 2025, this facility is being developed by VanTrust and will primarily serve America’s Midwest region.
Strategic Location and Development Partnership
Joe Zarzycki, VP of Planning and Engineering at Sephora, emphasized the strategic benefits of the new location: “Its proximity to a large metropolitan area and transportation hubs will provide direct access to our customers throughout the country. We look forward to the completion of the project and appreciate our continued relationship with VanTrust.” This marks VanTrust’s second project with Sephora, following their successful collaboration on the retailer’s distribution center in Las Vegas.
Phil Rasey, VP of Development at VanTrust, added, “Avon Landings is a 119-acre master-planned park with a prime location near Indianapolis, a dynamic market we continue to invest in. We are pleased that Sephora, one of the best-known retail brands in the world, has chosen to locate its distribution center here.”
Global Expansion and New Market Penetration
Sephora has been actively expanding its global footprint over the past year. In the UK, the retailer is opening three new stores in Newcastle and Birmingham, building on its previous successful launches in London and Manchester.

In India, Sephora appointed The Reliance Retail Group (RRVL) to oversee its operations in the country, aiming to boost its reach in the region. The deal, estimated at around €11.1 million, grants RRVL exclusive rights to build and enhance Sephora’s presence in India across all channels.
Revitalizing Strategy in China
Sephora is also revitalizing its strategy in China to combat lagging sales due to strong competition from local beauty retailers. The company recently appointed Xia Ding as Managing Director for its China operations, overseeing Sephora’s business in mainland China and Hong Kong, including its portfolio of 350 stores and e-commerce websites. Ding’s appointment follows the departure of Greater China CEO Maggie Chan, who stepped down in January 2024 after a five-year tenure.
Conclusion
Sephora’s new distribution center in Indiana represents a significant expansion of its logistics network in the U.S., enhancing its ability to serve customers efficiently across the Midwest. This development, coupled with Sephora’s aggressive global expansion strategy, underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its market presence and delivering high-quality beauty products and services worldwide.
