Chipotle Mexican Grill, the popular design-it-yourself burrito and bowl chain, has just opened its first Chipotlane in Wesley Chapel, offering guests a new, convenient way to pick up their custom meals. Unlike traditional drive-thrus, the Chipotlane allows customers to order via the Chipotle app and pick up their meals without leaving their cars.
“Our fans love the convenience of using our app to pick up via a Chipotlane because it’s the fastest way to get Chipotle,” a Chipotle spokesperson told 10 Tampa Bay. “On average, it takes guests fewer than 30 seconds to complete the process. Pick-up orders, including those that are made through Chipotlanes, are our highest margin transaction.”
In addition to the new drive-thru feature, Chipotle will be adding Chicken Al Pastor for a limited time, available at the Wesley Chapel location. This opening marks the fourth Chipotlane in the Tampa Bay area, with hundreds more across the U.S.
“We started testing Chipotlanes in 2018, and we are on track to open our 1,000th Chipotlane later this year,” the spokesperson added.
Despite the new drive-thru option, Chipotle emphasizes that the in-store experience remains a core part of its service, with in-restaurant sales accounting for 63.5% of total food and beverage revenue in Q1 of 2024. “Many of our guests are still passionate about the classic experience of moving down the line and building their bowls in person,” the spokesperson said.
The Wesley Chapel Chipotlane, located at 28906 SR 54, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544, is open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. This new location also brings employment opportunities for locals, with positions available on Chipotle’s website.
New Chipotlane in Bennington
Chipotle is also opening a new location in Bennington, featuring a Chipotlane drive-thru pick-up lane. This will allow guests to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars. The Bennington restaurant, set to open on Tuesday, July 16 at 106 Northside Drive, is the only Chipotle location within a 30-mile radius.
The restaurant is hiring, offering employees benefits such as a crew bonus with the opportunity to earn an extra month’s worth of pay each year, a debt-free college degree program, and access to mental healthcare for employees and their families.
